The original Quanta became a cult paddle for one reason: it hit like something three times the price. It also had two nagging problems β a peel-ply face that wore down fast, and a stock build so light that most people had to tape it up before it played right. The Quanta Pro R2.16 is Ronbus going back and fixing both.
The R2 is the widebody of the line β 8 inches across, the shortest of the three Pro shapes, and the most forgiving. It's the paddle for people who win points with hands, not with reach. With the Pro's internal weighting already built in, it comes out of the box closer to playable than any Quanta before it.

Skill Level & Play Style
Skill level: 3.0 through 5.0. Forgiving enough that a developing player won't get punished, fast enough that an advanced player can bang with it.
Play style: Power-leaning all-court. Best suited to quick-hands doubles, counterattacking, and putting balls away from mid-court.

Performance Notes
At a 107 swingweight the R2 is the fastest of the three Pro shapes through the air, and the 7.05 twistweight is the highest β that combination is why it's the most forgiving option in the line. Translation: quick hands at the net, and off-center contact that doesn't twist the face and kill your pace.
Because the internal weighting sits inside the paddle rather than on the perimeter, the Pro behaves differently under tape than a standard Quanta. If you're coming off a weighted Quanta R2, start with roughly 2β3 grams less per side than you're used to and work up from there. Add at 3 and 9 o'clock for stability, at 12 for drive power.

The Technology
NanoBond Surface
A cross-linking process builds a nano-scale bonding network into the carbon-fibril polymer matrix, producing a wear-resistant textured face. The point is spin that survives β peel ply grips well and then stops gripping.
4th-Gen Foam Core
Lightweight EPP foam core wrapped in an EVA elastomer ring. No honeycomb, so no core crush β and the ring adds pop while killing vibration.
Internal Weighting System
Weight built into the paddle instead of taped onto it, so stability is there from the first swing.
Reinforced Throat
Stiffer throat construction for a more stable, consistent feel through contact.

Is the Quanta Pro USAP approved?
Yes β USAP PBCoR.43 approved and legal for sanctioned tournament play.
How is the Pro different from the standard Quanta?
Three things: the NanoBond face replaces peel ply for durability, internal weighting is built in, and the throat is reinforced. Same 16mm foam-core platform, same shapes.
Do I still need to add lead tape?
Less than before. Many players run the Pro stock. If you customize, start lighter than your standard Quanta setup β the internal weight is already doing some of that work.
Which shape should I get?
R2.16 for forgiveness and hand speed, R4.16 for a balance of reach and stability, R3.16 for maximum reach and power. Stick close to whatever shape you already play.
What's the warranty?
6 months against manufacturing defects. Paddle cover is not included.
