Gear you can trust. Advice you can actually use.
Spinwave Pickleball is a pickleball shop built for players who want to try before they buy, get honest recommendations, and find gear that actually fits their game.
We're a pickleball shop that actually knows the game.
Spinwave Pickleball was built around one idea: players deserve better than guessing online. Too many people buy a paddle based on a spec sheet and end up with something that doesn't fit their game.
We fix that. Whether you're brand new to pickleball or a seasoned player looking to upgrade, our team helps you find the right gear — not just the most popular one.
We carry paddles, accessories, and everything you need to play better, and we back every recommendation with real knowledge of how the gear actually performs on court.
The right paddle changes how you play.
Paddle specs matter, but feel matters more. The weight, shape, handle length, core material, and face texture all affect how a paddle plays — and those things are hard to judge from a product page alone.
That's why we make it easy to demo gear before you commit. We'd rather you walk away with the right paddle than make a fast sale.
Demo Paddles On-Site
Test paddles at Long Beach Tennis Center before you commit. Get a real feel for power, control, shape, and playability on an actual court.
Honest Recommendations
We match you with gear based on your level, style, and what you want more of. No upsell, no hype — just straight answers about what works.
Support After the Sale
Questions about your order, a return, or what grip to add? Our team is reachable and responsive. We don't disappear after checkout.
Built by Players.
Grown by Community.
Spinwave didn't start with a business plan. It started at a birthday party — and one terrible first attempt at pickleball.
How It Started
I brought my son Zach to a friend's birthday party. While the kids ran around, I tried pickleball for the first time. I was absolutely atrocious. But I was also immediately hooked.
Like a lot of new players, I jumped in headfirst — buying several paddles, sneakers, a bag, and just about everything else I thought I needed. The problem was there was no real way to know which gear was right for me before buying it.
At the time, there was nowhere on Long Island where players could walk in, hold different paddles, demo them, and get honest guidance from someone who understood the products.
That was the lightbulb moment.
Doing It Differently
While everyone else seemed to be searching for large warehouse spaces, I decided to go in a different direction — a small retail location where customers could actually come inside, try the equipment, and talk to someone face-to-face.
I drew on my experience selling online and through Amazon and began building Spinwave while continuing to work full time as a sales representative for Sysco. The early days were not glamorous: managing inventory, helping customers, and figuring out how to grow a new business all at once.
"I wanted to create the kind of pickleball store I wished had existed when I first started playing."
A place where beginners wouldn't feel intimidated. Where experienced players could compare the newest equipment. Where the person helping you cared more about finding the right paddle than making a fast sale.
When a Customer Became a Partner
About a year in, Alex Golubenko walked into the store as a customer. He demoed a few paddles, we stayed in touch, and eventually we started meeting to talk about where the business could go.
I was planning a Great Neck location — a North Shore presence closer to the Queens and Brooklyn border. Alex and I entered what we jokingly call our "dating stage." While the Great Neck store was being built, he came in almost every day: learning how the company operated, meeting customers, studying the products, and seeing firsthand what we were trying to build.
After about a month, we worked out the details and became partners. Alex invested in the company, and we began the next stage of Spinwave together.
More Than a Pickleball Store
Since then, Spinwave has continued to grow — but the part we're proudest of is the community that's formed around it. Customers regularly come in believing they already know which paddle they need, only to discover through demoing that a completely different shape, weight, or playing style works better for them.
We've helped brand-new players choose their first paddle, competitive players fine-tune their setups, and longtime customers adjust their equipment as their games evolve. Those moments are what Spinwave is really about.
No matter how much Spinwave grows, we never want to lose what made it work in the first place: personal service, honest recommendations, and a genuine connection with the people who walk through our doors.
We'd rather lose a sale than put someone in the wrong paddle.
I first visited after a friend recommended the store. Jasen took the time to listen when I explained that I have tennis elbow and patiently recommended a paddle he believed would help protect my arm. When I returned the following Saturday, I had the pleasure of meeting Alex. He spent a great deal of time introducing me to several different paddles and carefully explaining the differences. I finally asked him to choose one for me. Instead, he smiled and said, "If you're not sure, don't buy one yet." He then recommended two paddles for me to try and let me demo them free of charge.
The following Wednesday I was helped by Adan — just as patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I ultimately purchased a paddle your store doesn't carry. It was not an easy decision because I truly wanted to support your business after the incredible experience you gave me. When I returned to bring back the demo paddles, Jason kindly told me there would be no rental charge at all.
You always put the customer's needs ahead of making a sale. You didn't just help me try different paddles — you earned my trust and respect.

Spinwave Great Neck customer
The people behind Spinwave.
Every recommendation, every demo, every conversation — it comes from people who genuinely love the game.
Dmitry Kirichansky
Started Spinwave after his first (terrible) game of pickleball and couldn't find a local shop to help him choose the right gear. Built the business while working full time, and never stopped believing that honest advice matters more than a fast sale.
Alex Golubenko
Walked in as a customer, stayed as a partner. Alex spent weeks learning the business from the floor up before joining Dmitry to help open the Great Neck location and grow Spinwave to the next level.
Justin Bethel
The face you'll see on Spinwave's social channels and often the first person you meet in the store. Justin keeps the community engaged, the content real, and the energy on the court exactly where it should be.
Jan Dayleg
The resident paddle nerd. Jan has tested more gear than most players will ever hold, writes in-depth breakdowns for the Spinwave blog, and is the person to talk to when you want to go deep on specs, feel, and performance.
Spinwave is heading to South Florida.
We're opening a new location in Boca Raton, FL — bringing the same pro shop experience Long Island players know to the South Florida pickleball community. Every paddle worth playing, expert fitting, and a demo court so you feel it before you buy it.
Opening late summer. Get on the early access list for demo days and a launch-day deal.
