The Process

How a Custom Build Works

1

Choose your base paddle

Start with the model that fits your game.

2

Select your upgrades

Add grips, edge guard tape, weights, engraving, and more.

3

We install + quality check

Every custom is completed in-house by Spinwave specialists.

4

Ships ready to play

No setup needed — just open and step on court.

Returns: Custom builds can still be returned within 30 days of the purchase date — the cost of the installed add-ons (overgrip, edge guard tape, weights) is deducted from your refund. A Hesacore Grip or Slyce Cap is a structural modification and makes the paddle final sale. See our return policy. Need something specific? Email customs@spinwavepickleball.com.

Custom Paddle FAQs

Can I return a custom build?
Yes. Custom builds may be returned within 30 days of the purchase date like any other paddle — we simply deduct the cost of the installed add-ons (overgrip, edge guard tape, and weights) from your refund. The one exception is a Hesacore Grip or Slyce Cap: those are structural modifications, so the paddle becomes final sale. Full terms are on our return policy page.
How long does installation take?
Most custom builds ship within 1–2 business days. Every paddle is installed and quality-checked in-house before it leaves.
Are installs done in-house?
Yes. All custom installs are completed by Spinwave specialists — never outsourced.
Can I request something not listed?
Absolutely. Email customs@spinwavepickleball.com with what you’re looking for and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
Can you weight-match my paddle?
If you have a target weight or balance preference, leave a note at checkout and we’ll do our best to match it within available inventory.
What’s the difference between this and a Prebuilt Custom?
A build-your-own starts from a base paddle you pick and gets the upgrades you choose. A Prebuilt Custom is already assembled and ready to ship, with its setup listed on the product page.
