RONBUS Tenon R4.16
The do-everything hybrid. If you're not sure which shape, start here.
The Tenon series is Ronbus' 4th-generation build, and the name tells the story: a mortise-and-tenon EPP/EVA joint core — an interlocking foam joint borrowed from woodworking — wrapped in an elastic layer and bonded to a high-strength carbon frame. It stays stable and powerful when you swing through it, then turns plush and quiet when you block or dink. No honeycomb, no plastic, no core crush to babysit.
Up top is Ronbus' NanoBond raw carbon face, cross-linked at a nano scale so the grit — and the spin — lasts well past the point where a standard peel-ply face polishes smooth. The R4 is the hybrid of the four Tenon shapes and carries the highest twistweight in the line at 6.61, which means the biggest, most stable sweet spot Ronbus builds.
Why Players Like It
- Spin That Holds Up — the NanoBond face keeps its texture instead of going slick after a month of drilling
- Control Without Going Dead — the dual-foam joint dampens vibration on resets but still gives pace when you swing
- Highest Twistweight in the Line (6.61) — off-center hits hold their line better than any other Tenon
- Durability Built In — the interlocking core is engineered against the delamination and core crush that plague thermoformed paddles
- Balanced 111 Swingweight — quick enough through hands, heavy enough to carry pace on drives
- USAP PBCoR .43 Approved — tournament-legal out of the box
What It Feels Like On Court
- Control-forward feel with real, on-tap power when you swing through
- Plush, quiet response on blocks, dinks, and resets
- Wide, stable sweet spot that forgives mishits without feeling mushy
- Consistent bite on rolls, drives, and third-shot drops
Who Is This Paddle For?
- All-court players 3.0 and up who want one paddle with no obvious weakness
- Anyone unsure which shape fits — the hybrid is the safest starting point
- Players who want premium foam-core construction without a $250 price tag
- Two-handed backhand players who need handle room
