Gen 2 of the Paddle Everyone Asked About
The first Minions Cannon sold on personality and then surprised people by actually playing. Gen 2 keeps the art and fixes the part nobody talks about until month three: the surface going smooth.
Same explosive Cannon hit. Same official Universal Minions face. What's new underneath is the Aero-9966™ coating over the T700 carbon and an MOI side-wing system that adds stabilizing mass at the frame edges. If you skipped Gen 1, this is the one to grab. If you had Gen 1, you already know what the Cannon does.
Dual USAP and UPA-A certified — so yes, you can bring a Minions paddle to a sanctioned tournament and it's legal.
Best For
- Drivers and bangers who want the ball off the face fast
- Players who want a paddle people ask about at the kitchen line
- Gifting — official Universal art in a premium themed box
- Anyone who wants elongated reach without a $250 price tag
- Tournament players who need USAP and UPA-A on the same paddle
Skill Level
Intermediate to advanced. Don't let the art fool you — this is the same competitive build as the standard Cannon2 M1, in an elongated shape with a longer, narrower sweet spot. More reach and leverage, less forgiveness on mishits. If you're brand new and still finding the middle of the face, a hybrid will treat you better.
Why Players Like It
- It plays, it isn't a novelty. Identical spec to the standard Cannon2 M1 — same face, same core, same weighting.
- Pop for the money. Drives, counters, and overheads come off fast without much effort.
- The surface holds. Grit loss is the complaint we field most across every brand. Aero-9966™ exists to stop it.
- Stable on mishits. Perimeter weighting keeps off-center balls on line instead of torquing the handle.
- Officially licensed. Real Universal Minions art, not a lookalike wrap.

Performance Notes
Power. The loud end of the Luzz range. The ball leaves fast on drives, counters, and overheads without you having to swing harder — great if your game is built on pressure, something to manage if it isn't.
Spin. Gritty T700 face. Topspin serves dip, third-shot drives bite, and the Aero-9966™ treatment is there specifically so that bite doesn't sand off over a season.
Stability. 6.4 twist weight is solid at this weight and price. Off-center contact stays on line rather than rolling the face open.
Feel. 122 swing weight keeps it maneuverable — fast enough for hands battles without feeling flimsy. It's not a soft paddle; resets and drops take deliberate hands.
Quick Buying Summary
Buy it if: you want the Cannon2 M1's power in the collab art, you play elongated, you need USAP legality, or you're buying a gift that also happens to be a real paddle.
Skip it if: you're a soft-game, reset-first player, you're brand new to the sport, or you'd rather save $10 and take the standard black version — the paddle underneath is identical.

The Tech
A hardened coating over the T700 carbon face that also penetrates into the fibers to strengthen the face-to-core bond. Built to resist the surface wear and fiber breakdown that turn a gritty paddle smooth.
High-density weights set into both sides of the frame. Widens the horizontal sweet spot and keeps the paddle from twisting in your hand on off-center contact and fast volleys.
Licensed Minions artwork on the face, not aftermarket vinyl. Ships in themed packaging built for the collab.
FAQs
Is it USAP approved?
Yes. Dual-certified by both USAP and UPA-A, so it's legal for PPA, APP, and MLP events as well as USAP-sanctioned tournaments.
Is it actually the same paddle as the black Cannon2 M1?
Yes — identical published specs, face, core, and weighting. The difference is the artwork, the packaging, and $10.
How is this different from the Gen 1 Minions Cannon?
Gen 2 adds the Aero-9966™ face treatment and the MOI side-wing weighting. Same explosive Cannon feel, built to hold its surface longer.
Does it come with a cover?
No. It ships in a premium themed gift box, but no paddle cover is included. We sell covers separately.
What's the grip size?
4.13" circumference, 5.52" long — on the slim side. Good for two-handed backhands and for players coming from tennis. Add an overgrip if you want it thicker.
What's the warranty?
12 months from Luzz. If something goes wrong, contact us first and we'll run the claim as the dealer.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — 30 days from your order date, in original condition and packaging. Add Play-Test Coverage at checkout and returns are free with a prepaid label.
Not sure this is the one?
Tell us how you play and we'll tell you straight — including if the answer is the plain black one for $10 less.
