Luzz Inferno2 M1 — Dawn
The original Inferno hit hard. Nobody argued that. The complaint was always what happened in hour three — the pop softened, the grit got polite, and the paddle you bought stopped being the paddle you were swinging. The Inferno2 M1 is Luzz's answer to that specific problem.
Three changes carry it: an upgraded MPP2 Power Core for more even response from center to edge, a TPEE Dynamic Return Ring that stabilizes off-center contact and recovers faster between shots, and the Aero-Black face — silicon carbide particles molded into the resin-and-carbon structure instead of sprayed on top. Same elongated power profile. Built to still feel like this in match 50.
Best For
- Aggressive baseline drivers who live on serves, counters, and speed-ups
- Players who liked the original Inferno but wore the face out too fast
- Anyone who plays long sessions or full tournament weekends and needs consistency at the back end
- Spin-heavy games — topspin drives, slice, dipping drops
Skill Level
Solid intermediate and up. The elongated shape gives you reach and leverage but asks for clean contact in return — if your mechanics are still developing, a hybrid will be more forgiving. Advanced players get the most out of it.
Why Players Like It
- MPP2 Power Core — more uniform support across the face, so the response doesn't jump on you when you catch one off-center.
- TPEE Dynamic Return Ring — adds stability outside the sweet spot and recovers quickly between shots in fast hands battles.
- Aero-Black integrated surface — grit anchored inside the composite, not layered on. It's built to keep biting well past the point where sprayed textures go slick.
- Still a power paddle — the upgrades target consistency, not softness. It didn't get tamed.

Performance Notes
Swing weight sits at 121 ± 3 — two points heavier than the original Inferno's 119 ± 3. That's a real difference you'll feel: a bit more mass through contact and more plow on drives, at the cost of a fraction of hand speed at the net. Twist weight drops slightly to 6.1 from 6.2, so the stability gains here come from the Return Ring rather than from raw resistance to twisting.
The endurance claim is the headline and it's the one thing you should judge for yourself. That's what the 30-day play-test is for.
Quick Buying Summary
Buy it if: you want elongated power with spin that holds up, you already like the Inferno platform, or you play enough volume that face wear is a real cost for you.
Skip it if: you want a control-first paddle, you're still building consistent contact, or you prefer a lighter swing weight for quick hands.
How It Compares
| Inferno2 M1 | Pro 4 Inferno MPP | Inferno MPP Frozen | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | MPP2 + Return Ring | MPP | MPP |
| Swing Weight | 121 ± 3 | 119 ± 3 | — |
| Character | Power · spin · endurance | Power · spin | Control · dwell |
| Pick it for | Consistency deep into long sessions | Same platform, lower entry price | Taming pop for a softer game |
Both comparison paddles are in stock at Spinwave. If you want the Inferno feel without the Gen4+ price, the Pro 4 Inferno MPP is still one of the best value power paddles we carry. If your game leans soft and you want dwell over pop, go Frozen.
The Technology
MPP2 Power Core. The upgraded microporous polymer core spreads support more evenly from center to off-center contact, which reduces the sudden drop-off in response you get toward the edge of the face.
TPEE Dynamic Return Ring. A structural ring that supports the face at impact and helps it recover for the next ball. The practical result is a wider, more predictable sweet spot during fast exchanges.
Aero-Black Surface. Silicon carbide particles are anchored inside an integrated resin-and-carbon structure during a single molding process rather than applied as a topical texture. The point is grit that stays put instead of polishing smooth after a few weeks.
FAQs
Is it tournament legal?
Yes, both ways. The Inferno2 M1 16mm is on the USAP approved paddle list and is UPA-A approved, so you're covered for USAP-sanctioned events as well as PPA and MLP pro divisions.
When does my preorder ship?
Preorders ship 8/18 – 8/22 from our Great Neck location. You'll get tracking the moment it moves.
I already own an Inferno. Worth upgrading?
Depends on your volume. If you play a few times a week and your face is still biting, hold. If you compete regularly and you've noticed the paddle going flat by the end of a tournament weekend, that's the exact gap this one was built to close.
Is it still a power paddle, or did they soften it?
Still power. The changes target consistency and durability, not feel. If anything the slightly higher swing weight gives you a touch more mass through the ball.
What if I don't like it?
You get our 30-day play-test guarantee. Take it on court, hit with it for real, and if it's not your paddle, send it back.
