Gearbox GX2 Power Elongated β Limited Edition
Same paddle everybody's been buying. New colorway. Both seals on the face.
The GX2 Power Elongated has been one of Gearbox's best sellers for a reason β the SST 2.0 CarbonRibCore build hits harder than it has any right to for how solid it feels. This Limited Edition run is that exact paddle in a bolder finish, and it's the first Gearbox release to print the USA Pickleball Approved and UPA-A Certified marks directly on the paddle. No squinting at a spec sheet at the tournament desk.
Best For
- Power players who drive from the baseline and want the ball to leave the face
- Tennis converts and two-handed backhand players who want the extra handle
- Anyone who liked the standard GX2 Power Elongated and wants the LE finish
- Players who need one paddle that clears both USAP and UPA-A rec/amateur play
Skill Level & Play Style
Intermediate to advanced. The elongated head gives you reach and leverage, but it also moves the balance forward β if you're brand new and still working on hand speed at the kitchen, a hybrid or standard shape is a friendlier starting point. Aggressive baseline and transition-zone players are who this is built for.
Why Players Like It
- Real power without a trampoline feel. The rib-structured carbon core transfers energy efficiently, so drives come off hot but stay connected.
- Stability on off-center contact. The carbon structure holds its shape better than honeycomb, so mishits don't twist out of your hand.
- Reach and leverage. 16.5" of paddle with a 5.5" handle β you cover more court and get more whip on the drive.
- It doesn't change on you. Break-in is short and linear. What you feel week one is what you'll feel in month three.
- Dual seals on the face. Certification questions get answered by looking at the paddle.

Performance Notes
Where this paddle earns its keep is the drive and the counter. The carbon rib core gives you a firm, connected pop rather than a springy one, which means you can swing through a fifth-shot drive without the ball ballooning. Hands battles at the kitchen ask more of you than they would with a shorter paddle β the extra length is leverage on offense and a little more work on defense. The raw 3K face grabs the ball well for rolls and topspin dinks. Balance point sits forward, so if you're used to a 16" standard shape, give it a couple of sessions before you judge it.
Quick Buying Summary
Get it if: you want maximum power in an elongated shape, you're comfortable with a forward balance, and you like the idea of a limited colorway that's legal in USAP events.
Skip it if: you're a control-first dinker, you're newer to the game and still building hand speed, or you play UPA-A Pro Main Draw or MLP Pro.
How It Compares
| Paddle | Shape | Who It Suits |
|---|---|---|
| GX2 Power Elongated LE (this one) | Elongated, 16mm | Power and reach, limited colorway, dual seals printed on the face |
| GX2 Power Elongated | Elongated, 16mm | Identical build in the standard colorway β same paddle, no LE finish |
| GX2 Power Hybrid | Hybrid, 16mm | Same core tech with a more forgiving, faster-handling shape at the net |
The Technology
SST 2.0 CarbonRibCore. Gearbox's patented rib structure replaces the honeycomb you'll find in most paddles. Instead of a cell grid that compresses and eventually breaks down, ribs run through the body of the paddle and tie the two faces together. That's where the firm, one-piece feel comes from β and why the paddle holds its performance longer.
Toray T-700 carbon, 200 FAW. Mid-modulus carbon in the core rather than polymer. Stiffer, lighter, and better at returning energy to the ball.
3K woven raw carbon face. Raw texture for grip on the ball β good spin numbers on rolls and topspin drives without a coating that wears off.
FAQs
Is this the same paddle as the regular GX2 Power Elongated?
Same construction, same specs, same feel. The differences are the Limited Edition colorway and the certification seals printed on the face.
Can I use it in USA Pickleball sanctioned tournaments?
Yes. It's USA Pickleball Approved and PBCoR Approved.
What about UPA-A events?
It's UPA-A Certified for all divisions except Pro Main Draw and MLP Pro competition in the U.S.
Is it heavy?
8.0 oz static, which is mid-weight β but the elongated shape puts more of that mass out toward the head, so it swings heavier than the number suggests.
Can I try it before committing?
Every paddle we sell comes with our 30-day play-test guarantee. Take it on court. If it's not for you, send it back.
Need Help Choosing?
Not sure if elongated is right for your game? That's a two-minute conversation, not a research project.
