Paddletek HoneyFoam Esquared (ESQ)

Paddletek went back to the lab and built a core out of foam instead of polymer honeycomb β€” and the Esquared is the result. A standard widebody shape, a multi-foam core that swallows mishits, and a raw PT-700 carbon face that bites the ball for spin. The pitch is simple: it makes the court feel smaller so you can swing harder. Pick your build below β€” 16mm for control and USAP tournament approval, or 14mm for faster hands and extra pop.

14mm or 16mm β€” which one?

16mm β€” The control build. Softer hands for resets and dinks, the plushest touch in the line, and approved for both USAP and UPA-A play. The pick if you play sanctioned tournaments.

14mm β€” The lively build. Faster through the air, poppier off the face, better for hands battles and counters. UPA-A approved only β€” not USAP legal, so best for rec, league, and UPA-A play.

Best For

All-court and control players who want a big, forgiving sweet spot and real spin. Choose the thickness that matches your game and your tournament needs.

Skill Level

Intermediate to advanced (3.0+). Forgiving enough for improving players, with a high enough ceiling to keep advanced players happy.

Why Players Like It

  • Multi-foam core. Layered foam (not honeycomb) extends dwell time and stretches the sweet spot β€” off-center balls stay alive.
  • Raw carbon face. PT-700 unidirectional carbon fiber grabs the ball for heavy, repeatable spin.
  • Two builds, three colors. 14mm or 16mm, in Orange, White, or Blue.
  • Shock Arrestor edge guard. Cuts vibration for a cleaner, quieter feel at contact.
  • Tournament options. 16mm is USAP + UPA-A approved; 14mm is UPA-A approved.

Performance Notes

Control & touch: The 16mm foam core is the soft end β€” slow, predictable resets and dinks with an enlarged sweet spot. The 14mm trades a little plush touch for speed.

Spin: The raw PT-700 carbon face is genuinely grippy on both builds β€” topspin rolls and slice serves bite hard.

Power & speed: Foam returns energy differently than honeycomb β€” the 14mm is quicker through the air and poppier; the 16mm leans control.

Quick Buying Summary

Want control, touch, and USAP tournament approval? 16mm. Want fast hands, extra pop, and you play rec/league/UPA-A? 14mm. Either way: multi-foam core, raw carbon face, big forgiving sweet spot.

The Technology

HoneyFoam Multi-Foam Core

Layers of foam engineered to balance dwell time, energy return, and stability β€” a bigger, more consistent sweet spot than traditional honeycomb.

PT-700 Raw Carbon Face

Unidirectional raw carbon fiber for a high-grit, spin-friendly hitting surface.

Shock Arrestor Edge Guard

Dampens vibration through the frame for a cleaner, quieter feel at contact.

FAQs

Is the Esquared USAP approved?

The 16mm is approved for both USAP and UPA-A. The 14mm is UPA-A only and not legal for USAP-sanctioned tournaments β€” pick the 16mm if your events require USAP.

14mm or 16mm β€” which should I get?

16mm for control, touch, and tournament flexibility. 14mm for faster hands and more pop in rec/league/UPA-A play.

What does a foam core do?

It widens the sweet spot and lengthens the time the ball stays on the face, improving control and forgiveness versus a standard honeycomb core.
