The Paddle

The Perseus is the shape the rest of the sport still gets measured against, and the Pro V is the current version of it. Rounded upper corners keep the sweet spot centered instead of pushing it toward the tip, so the elongated profile buys you reach at the kitchen without making you hunt for the middle. New this generation is KineticFrame — a throat that flexes and recovers through impact, so the frame absorbs some of the hit rather than firing everything back at you. Behind it sits the Propulsion core for controlled pop and a Hyperfoam Edge Wall that holds the frame steady on off-center contact.

Numbers back up the feel: 116 swing weight and 6.04 twist weight put it squarely in the middle of the elongated field — enough plow-through to drive, not so much that it feels like a shovel in your hand. The textured carbon face measured 2,170 RPM, so dipping rolls and kicking serves are genuinely on the table. Go 16mm for the thicker, more stable build with softer feel and better consistency on resets and hands battles; go 14mm for the snappier response, more pop on counters and a lighter swing.
